How to amend your SMTP port in Outlook Express
Some Internet Service Providers (ISP’s) will routinely block sending mail on the default port 25. To remedy this, follow the simple steps listed below. These will take you through the process of changing your port to 587 which will allow mail to be sent.
Step 1. Open Microsoft Outlook Express then select Tools » Accounts.
Step 2. Select the Mail tab in the top navigation and highlight the account you want to change the outgoing port for. Then click ‘Properties’.
Step 3. Now select the ‘Advanced Tab’ and change the Out-Going Server Port to 587 then click ‘OK’
Step 4. Once done, click ‘Close’.
Note. Once completed, you should be able to send mail via our outgoing mail server without being blocked by your Internet Service Provider.
