How to amend your SMTP port in Microsoft Outlook 2003
It is quite common that some ISPs (Internet Service Providers) will block sending mail on the default port 25. Follow the simple steps listed below to show you how changing your port to 587 which will allow mail to be sent.
Step 1. Start Microsoft Outlook 2003. From the top menu bar, select ‘Tools’ then ‘Email Accounts’ from the dropdown menu.
Step 2. Select ‘View or Change Existing Account’ by clicking the radio button.
Step 3. Use your cursor to highlight the email account you want to change the outgoing port for and click ‘Change’.
Step 4. Click on the ‘More Settings’ button
Step 5. Select the Advanced Tab in the navigation, Change the ‘Out Going Server’ Port to 587 and click ‘OK’
Step 6. Once done, click ‘Next’
Step 7. Now click ‘Finish’
This means you should now be able to send mail via our outgoing mail server smtp.iomartmail.com, without the risk of being blocked by your ISP.
